About

Pet Pals of Heathrow was founded over 12 years ago by local Heathrow residents.

During that time we have lovingly cared for hundreds of pets and logged many thousands of hours of pet care within Heathrow and the surrounding area.
That has provided a wealth of experience and expertise, along with a whole lot of funny and sometimes crazy tales to tell.

Owned and operated by long time Heathrow resident homeowner Ellen DiGiovanni who is:
 
  •  Well known, trusted,  and active within the Heathrow community for over 16 years.
  • Licensed, insured, experienced.
  • Certified by the American Red Cross in Pet CPR and First Aid.
  • Experienced in administering all types of medication.
Pet Pals is available when you need us, whether it's a one time visit or multiple times while you're away.

Ellen is also the proud owner and operator of a successful local home watch/home monitoring service,
Heathrow Home Watch.

DOG WALKING

We work with your schedule and your pet's needs. Whether it's a single mid-day walk, or multiple times per day, we're available to help out. Our dogs are walked individually. We do not walk them with other dogs unless they are yours.

PET CARE WHILE YOU'RE AWAY

Most pets prefer to stay in their own home while their owner is away. They're in their own surroundings, living life on their usual schedule, and in the peaceful, familiar home they're used to. Pet Pals offers the perfect alternative to often stressful boarding. Our unparalleled service offers a customized schedule of visits to walk, feed, care for , and love your pet while you're not at home. Our first visits start around 7:00 a.m., and our last visits of the day are around 7:00 p.m. Our dog clients will be walked or let out at each visit, and fed on their normal schedule. Love and attention always included ! Our cat and small pet clients will be fed, have their litter box or cage refreshed, and enjoy personal attention and play time. We are experienced in administering oral, topical, and injectable medication.

Cat and Small Pet Care

We've cared for birds, bunnies, butterflies, cats, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs, hermit crabs, land tortoises, lizards, possums, and sugar gliders. We'd love to care for your special pet ! Our visits, customized by you, may include feeding, litter box scooping, cage cleaning, whatever your pet needs. Love and attention always included ! We are experienced in administering oral, topical, and injectable medications.

I'll be happy to take in mail and packages. I'll also gladly water a few thirsty houseplants, if needed.

Plant Care

Plants need love too ! As an experienced gardener, I'd be delighted to tend to your indoor or outdoor plants that need watering or extra care. Pricing dependent upon number of plants and specific needs. Let's talk plants !

Our prices for PET CARE start at $16 per visit for one pet.  

 Additional pets may be slightly higher, depending upon the number and type of pets.

Our prices for PLANT CARE start at $18 per visit, depending upon the number of plants and type of care required.

Prices for HEATHROW HOME WATCH services start at $18 per visit.

We love and appreciate our clients so we never charge extra for:

 - Holiday visits

As much advance notice is always best. But life happens !
Something unplanned pops up, or you're stuck somewhere longer than you expected.
For our existing clients, you can text (always best) or call on the same day you need me.

For Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hannukah reservations, please contact us as soon as possible. We are usually fully booked for those holidays by October.

Our average visit is about 20 minutes.
That, of course, depends on the pet. And if we're walking a dog, it also depends on the weather.
Labs love water, so bring on the rain ! Most will happily trot along through puddles without a care.
Chihuahuas... well, not so much. If it's raining, they're all business and then back in as soon as possible.
In extreme heat conditions we may keep the walks shorter to ensure your dog's well-being.
 If they'll walk, I'll walk !
If it's absolutely pouring I'll wait for the rain to let up before I take them out.

We do not, however, walk when there is thunder/lightning. We'll either wait for the storm to pass or cancel if absolutely necessary after consulting with the owner.
